Have You Talked to God Today?

As you may be aware, I am a firm believer in the power of prayer. Prayer is how we ask and intuition is how we receive. However, trying to teach the power of prayer to children requires a different approach.

As adults we learn to use our thoughts and words to communicate with God, and over time, we learn to have faith, trust, and recognize how God answers our prayers. But for children, it feels like speaking to the invisible.

Here is a simple technique that I taught my little one; it serves as a tangible way to communicate with God and let Him know that there is something important that you want His help with and for Him to take action on.

The “Help Wanted” Technique

Step 1 |Write a letter to God.

In this letter, there is total surrender; all fears, worries, anxieties, and concerns are clearly stated. It’s like speaking to your best, most trusted friend. You are 100% safe with full disclosure.

Step 2 |Ask for deliverance.

Ask for what you want. This is not a time to withhold your desires. In your minds-eye, picture your ideal solution, then ask for “It,” whatever “It” is; clearly.

Step 3 |Finalize your letter to God {in gratitude}.

We are taught to be specific in prayer; to ask for exactly what we desire. And while this is pivotal, we must also learn to release our attachment to the outcome of our prayer. One way in which to do this is to end your letter to God with something like this, “I give thanks for this or something better God.

In this way, you entrust the same intelligence that wakes you up, each and every day, to deliver what is divinely right for your highest good, with harm to none. It is not our job to tell God “how” to deliver; only that we desire deliverance.

Trust that Divine Intelligence has infinite resources, beyond your understanding, to demonstrate miracles in your lives.

Step 4 |Create a mailbox to God.

Place your letter to God in your “Help Wanted” box and move on with the rest of your day. This box can be any type of box you design, create, or purchase. God doesn’t really care how the box looks; just that you come to Him in prayer.  And So It Is.

1 Thessalonians 5 17

Now, don’t be fooled by the simplicity of this technique nor the fact that it helps children learn to communicate with God. It works for adults as well. After all, we are all God’s children and there is no one, specific, “right way” to pray.

There are also no hard and fast rules with using this technique to communicate with God. You don’t have to be an eloquent writer, good speller, or use perfect grammar; just write!

The basic message here is this

There will be times when you pray and you may become convinced that no one is listening; continue to pray; even in the absence of tangible evidence of acknowledgement.

P.U.S.H. | Pray Until Something Happens

Pray in the morning. Pray during the day. Pray at night. Speak your prayers. Sing your prayers. Write your prayers. All that matters is that you pray. And then…remain open and available to receive the answers that you asked for.

The answers to your prayers may come in varied and unexpected ways. Pay special attention to repetitive thoughts, recurring dreams and themes; any persistent thought to contact someone, visit a particular place, or take a specific action. Notice where your heart is drawn; enthusiasm is key. These are all ways in which our prayers are answered.

Trust the divine wisdom that you are receiving and take inspired action on what you are being called to do {even if you don’t yet understand “why”}. This is called “Acting in Faith.” You will begin to notice that you are aligning with tangible evidence: “coincidences” and synchronicities. You will know that you are in the right place, at the right time, taking right action. This is how you will know that your prayers have been heard and answered. It will feel right {beyond a shadow of doubt} and soooooo good!

Namaste,

Leigh
